What does a rail overhaul involve?

Our expert team at Coxons will strip assemblies to their bare components, and assess the core. We'll assess to see if any damage has occurred, and if we can, we'll reuse the core. We will also:

  • Sandblast and inspect all steelwork, to ensure everything is working as smoothly as possible.
  • Replace gaskets, O-rings, and mounting hardware
  • Reassemble units

Then, we'll test the units, paint them as per your instructions and specifications, and dispatch your rail radiator back to you.

What other industries do you service?

We offer a range of heating and cooling systems and solutions for a variety of industries, such as:

  • Mining
  • Agricultural
  • Heavy Haulage
  • Industrial
  • Power generation
  • Automotive
  • Underground mining

What's the difference between rail oil coolers and charge air coolers?

An oil cooler regulates the temperature of your rail engine's oil. It removes excess heat by passing through a heat exchanger, which is cooled by water or air. If the oil cooler fails, it can lead to engine failure, and costly repairs.

Charge air coolers, meanwhile, cools the air travelling to your locomotive engine. It works to keep your engine cool during operation. It provides increased fuel efficiency and reduced engine emissions for your rail radiators.

Why should I choose Coxons for rail servicing and locomotive overhauls?

At Coxons, we only work with industry leading brands for the rail industry, such as General Electric, and Electro-Motive Diesel.

We've established a superb reputation as a leader in the industry ourselves. We provide outstanding products and services, as well as detail condition reports. When we provide a service, we also make sure you understand the costs of the job so there are no hidden surprises.
