Radiators are subject to harsh conditions; they have to endure incredible heat, harsh vibration, corrosion, and pressure from thermal expansion. Thankfully, ADRAD's ADFUSE welded core is up to the task. It's the result of extensive research and testing, and we've been blown away by the results.

How is ADFUSE different to a conventional, soldered radiator?

For most industrial radiators, the core is formed by soldering tubes and headers together. That sort of method will hold up for a time, and is a good process for normal applications. But soldered joints are more likely to fail if the radiator has been subject to high stress and extreme heat. Wear and tear can come from:

  • High levels of vibration
  • Thermal expansion
  • Increased pressure

That's when the benefits of an ADFUSE welded radiator core really manifest themselves. The bonds are far stronger, so the core can better handle intense work. When confronted with heavy duty water and oil cooling applications, ADFUSE will last far longer than the solely soldered alternative.

Maximum strength ADFUSE welded core

A radiator core is made up of many small tubes. On an industrial radiator, there can be more than 500 of them. With so many components, a radiator is an intricate piece of machinery. Because the tubes need to be welded at both ends, each industrial radiator needs as many as 1000 individual welds. Each of these welds is subject to extreme conditions over the life of the radiator.

With ADFUSE, the tube is welded to the header plate with an especially strong connection. Using a computer-controlled robot, each weld is accurate to within less than 0.1 of a millimetre. With superior strength and precision, the ADFUSE has the toughness to last longer and perform better.

The ADFUSE core is a great upgrade to radiator technology, but the innovation doesn't stop there. It can also be combined with other improvements in the field, for a double upgrade.
