To finish off the year with a bang, we head to the Mackay Branch to put the spotlight on Raynor Barnes, Radiator Repairer!
Raynor is a valued member of our Mackay workshop team, known for his strong work ethic, reliability and down-to-earth approach. Starting his journey at Coxons Group Australia as a Workshop Assistant, Raynor quickly proved himself on the floor and earned his promotion to Radiator Repairer.
Growing up on a farm and spending his younger years around dirt bikes and four-wheel drives, Raynor naturally gravitated towards mechanical work. That hands-on background sparked his interest in stepping into the mining industry and working on larger equipment.
Now primarily working in assembly, Raynor specialises in Komatsu and CAT gear, including 830s, 930s, 960s and CAT 789 and 793 components. He enjoys the challenge of putting complex systems together and understanding how they work.
When asked about his experience at Coxons Group, Raynor says, “The culture here is really good. Everyone’s super nice and willing to lend a hand… we all crack jokes together, so it’s a good environment.”
Respected by his teammates for his consistency and willingness to get stuck in, Raynor represents the kind of steady, committed people who help keep our workshops performing under pressure every day.
