This month’s employee spotlight shines on Graeme Findlay, our General Manager – Operations.
Graeme’s career began as a machinist toolmaker in New Zealand, and over the past 25+ years he’s built an impressive career across engineering, manufacturing, and mining. From his early days on the tools to now leading operations across Australia, Graeme’s journey is a great example of how hard work, persistence, and a love of problem-solving can open doors.
In his video, Graeme talks about what initially drew him to Coxons Group. For him, it all came down to the culture – where safety comes first, accountability is part of everyday life and mateship runs through every level of the business. As he puts it, “Our team coming to work and returning home every evening in the same state that they arrive, that’s our number one priority.”
Graeme also reflects on the advice he’d give his younger self: “Be confident in what you can do… take ownership of what you do, be accountable, and just try to be the best at what you do. It goes a long way in life.” His message to young people looking at careers in engineering or mining is simple – never give up, because great opportunities can come from anywhere if you put your heart and soul into it.
